I recorded this in the summer of 2012 because Iron Maiden is awesome and docking a boat can be intimidating. This was during my "Blood Plume" days.
lyrics
I am the man that docks alone/when I am docking a small boat/when I am coming in to park
And the wind begins to change/other boats are rearranged/I need some time to stop and start
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a constant fear that my boat will not steer
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a phobia that my boat’s not in gear
Vis may be obstructed by a squall/waves are stacking up in walls/Or you’re facing fading light
Sometimes when you’re scared to take a look/and you’ve just dropped the boat hook/and the whole harbor’s watching you
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a constant fear that my boat will not steer
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a phobia that my boat’s not in gear
Have you ever been alone at sea/thought you were just running free/and then realized you’re out of gas
And though you are quick to navigate/it’s solo docking that you hate/dock crashing class you never passed
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a constant fear that my boat will not steer
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a phobia that my boat’s not in gear
You left your fenders overboard/a point for classiness unscored/you were Baylining all the way
You tried to avoid all the sticks/and all the crab pots in the mix/but you hit everything today
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a constant fear that my boat will not steer
Fear of the dock fear of the dock I have a phobia that my boat’s not in gear
When I am docking a small boat I am the man that docks alone
